Make-up Text Even the most in-love couples occasionally have disagreements. A fight does NOT mean that you should break-up. There are ways to end the argument on a "good note" even if the argument was ugly and heated.
The first step in making-up after a fight is to SAY YOU'RE SORRY. Even if your partner started the fight. You participated in the fight as well. They certainly weren't arguing by themselves! So apologize SINCERELY for whatever role you had in the fight. And apologize for anything you said or did that may have hurt your partner's feelings. After apologizing, you may want to renew your commitment to the relationship and restate your love for your partner. But that part it up to you.
Secondly, if your partner apologizes as well, ACCEPT THEIR APOLOGY. Even if your partner said or did some hurtful things, accept their apology and realize that it's easy to get carried away during an argument. It doesn't mean they love you any less. If you cannot bring yourself to accept their apology, let them know that you're too angry or upset and that you need some time. Hopefully they will understand and give you the time you need to cool offer.
Lastly, LET IT GO. This is perhaps the hardest part in getting over an argument, but it's necessary if you're going to move forward in your relationship. They said things, you said things. Try to learn from them and don't hold a grudge. People argue about a lot of things, but most of the time, the root cause is something outside of the home like work pressures or worrying and finances. Try not to over analyze every detail of what was said, and remind yourself about the things you love about your partner. Because what is in your heart is what matters at the end of the day.
